Description
- The game Four Dragons is a 4 player partnership trick taking game that revolves around the Mexican holiday of Dia De Los Muertos. With a short playing time of approximately 30 minutes, it challenges players' strategic abilities. Similar to traditional trick-taking games, most cards in this game come with special actions. As a team, you and your partner can exchange cards if your side wins scoring cards. Additionally, there are other cards that allow for card swaps between partners, questioning, and canceling other cards. While the initial rounds may require frequent rule checks, the game soon becomes intuitive and players can focus on strategy. Fans of Bridge will especially enjoy this game as it offers similar elements of card signaling and deck reading. However, those who are unfamiliar or uninterested in trick-taking games may want to avoid this one, as it can be quite mentally demanding.
- From the designer Frank Branham: A 4 player partnership trick taking game themed around the Mexican Day of the Dead. (A particular favorite holiday of ours, as Sandi and I were married on that day in Marietta Confederate Cemetery.) It is short (about 30 minutes), and rather brain bending.
- Dia De Los Muertos (Day Of The Dead) is played over three days as you send animals, then children, then adults on to the afterlife. It is a basic trick taking game, except that most cards have an action with them. You play as a partnership, and if your side wins scoring cards (the dead or food), you exchange a card with your opponent. Other cards allow swaps between partners, asking a question, cancelling other cards and so on.
